Legends Converge In Los Angeles
After a much needed rest following the madness of the World Series of Poker and the Bellagio Cup, life on the poker road begins again in Los Angeles, with the Bicycle Casino’s Legends Of Poker.
This $9,800 + $200 buy-in no-limit hold ‘em championship is set to run from August 23rd through the 28th at the Bicycle Casino. Players will begin with $30,000 in tournament chips with blind levels increasing every ninety minutes. Organizers are expecting big crowds for the event. Last year saw 485 people register to play, which created a total prize pool of $4,850,000 and a first place prize worth $1,635,365.
Since its inception, the Legends of Poker has been a mainstay on the World Poker Tour schedule. Over the years the tournament has both made history and created stars. Past winners of the Legends include, Mel Judah, Joe Pelton, Doyle “Texas Dolly” Brunson and last year’s winner, “Action” Dan Harrington.
The Legends of Poker is particularly historic for PokerRoad, as last year it was one of the two major WPT tournaments where President Joe Sebok busted in 7th place, just one spot away from the TV final table. As a result, thanks in large part to the Legends, the term “seventhbok” has earned a treasured spot in poker’s ever-growing vernacular.
The results for last season’s star-studded final table were as follows:
| 1. |
“Action” Dan Harrington |
$1,635,365.00 |
